Join ESWO to Celebrate the 8th Anniversary of Seize the Day
Join us on Saturday, September 21st, 2024, as Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario (ESWO) hosts our Annual Seize the Day Fundraiser at Vollmer Culture & Recreation Complex. All proceeds will support vital services for individuals living with epilepsy, their families, and their communities throughout Southwestern Ontario.
This family-friendly event kicks off at 10:00 am and features a 5K run and a 2.5K walk, followed by a delicious BBQ.
Whether you're participating to honor a loved one, support those affected by epilepsy, or help raise awareness, we invite you to be part of this special day. Let's surpass last year's success and celebrate our amazing purple community!
Join us in showing those living with epilepsy that they are not alone. Let’s make every step count!
Location
Vollmer Culture & Recreation Complex, 2121 Laurier Pkwy, Windsor, ON N9J 0B4
A beautiful park that offers a pavilion and trail for the walk and run. There will be access to a splash pad (weather permitting due to time of season) and accessibility playground.
Note: Some of the trails are gravel and not paved – However it is flat and accessible.

What is a Virtual Run/Walk?
A virtual run or walk allows you to participate in the event from any location you choose. Whether you walk, run, or use a wheelchair/stroller, you can create your own route and go at your own pace, timing yourself if desired. You have from September 28-29 to complete your 2.5K or 5K.
Be sure to:
1. Download your “I’m Walking For” sign.
2. Complete your 2.5K Walk/5K Run and share your photos with us by tagging @epilepsyswo on social media.
3. Download a participant certificate or print your own personalized certificate once you submit your results on Race Roster.

1. Everyone who registers for the in-person event will receive a T-shirt! To ensure you get your preferred size, please register by August 14th, 2024. Participants who register after this date will still receive a T-shirt, but size availability cannot be guaranteed.
2. For those running virtually and are interested in a t-shirt, we will have them available to purchase on our online store. Stay tuned for more details.
3. The first 300 registrants will receive a run bag at the event.
4. Visit our “I’m Walking for Wall” and share a picture and your reason for participating.

Registration and Fees
- Your online registration through Race Roster will include all fees associated with the event.
- Register in advance for $30 or at the event for $40.
- Virtual participation is FREE.
- All in-person participants will receive a T-shirt! (To ensure you get your preferred size, please register by August 14th, 2024. Participants who register after this date will still receive a T-shirt, but size availability cannot be guaranteed.)
- Registration fees apply to each individual member of the team.
- In-person participation is free for those under 12 years of age.
- Offline pledge forms available. Please ensure all cheques are made payable to Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario.
If you receive offline funds (cash/cheques), these can be submitted to our head office or by e-transfer (Please contact us regarding an e-transfer: jennifer@epilepsyswo.ca)
Please note that all cheques need to be made payable to Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario. If tax receipts are required for donations, please fill out the pledge form with a legible mailing address and full name.

Registration online does not include fee. All registrations must be done via mail, in person at ESWO or at event. Registration in advance is $20. Collect $100 in pledges and your fee is waived. Free for children under 17.
