2024 Run Your Heart Out

It’s our 12th annual Run Your Heart Out Fun Run/Walk in support of Manitoba Mutts Dog Rescue! This year, things will be running a little differently. We are going virtual! Keeping with the spirit of new things and keeping up with the times, this year, we are holding a month-long fundraising, walking, running, and challenge-filled event!

Starting July 1st, 2024 and running for 31 days, this year's Run Your Heart Out will be held from the comfort of your home/wherever you are vacationing/your local park, street, treadmill, or wherever you find yourself! This event will help us raise funds for the animals in need and raise awareness.

PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING!

The first part of the fun will take place out on the streets, trails and sidewalks or wherever you are to get outside and walk/run/cycle/swim/roll/crawl or however else you choose! Each day your goal should be to walk/run/roll whatever you feel you can complete safely within your physical capabilities. The only person you are competing with is yourself, so set a goal for yourself and get out to achieve it every week.

The second part of the fun will be the daily challenges! You and your Mutt, if you have one, can do these challenges together and are encouraged to include your family and friends! Every day, we will post/email a challenge to be completed. You snap photos or take videos of your adventures and share them in our Facebook event or tag us on Instagram using #muttsrunyourheartout2024. Don’t forget to check out other people's pictures and follow fellow participants who are taking part in all the fun. Feel free to participate in the challenges that sound fun to you or in all of them! Every challenge completed will be one point towards the participation award. Bonus entries may be awarded for the best entry each day, depending on the challenge, and those will be identified in advance.

There will be three prizes awarded!

1. The Top Pledge Earner - Most pledges collected.

2. Pledge Participation - For every $50 in pledges collected one entry will be put into the draw and at the end of the month one lucky winner will be selected.

3. Challenge Participation - Each participant will be entered into a draw with one entry per challenge completed! At the end of the month, one lucky winner will be selected.

So, stay tuned to have a sneak peek of some amazing goodies up for grabs. Everybody could win a prize, but no matter what, everyone's a winner. RYHO is open to the whole family! Your furry family members are welcome and invited to join in on the fun, but please ensure that everyone is being safe and following leash rules where you live.

For paper pledge forms please email events@manitobamutts.org . Donations of $20.00 or more are eligible for a tax receipt, so if you’re using a paper pledge form please ensure that you collect all the necessary information (full name, full address, and email address) from your donators. Proceeds from this event will help to pay expenses such as vet bills, food, and other necessities to care for rescued dogs and cats.
