Cherokee Recreation and Parks will host the inaugural Live Like Laken 5K Run/Walk on October 26, 2024 at Hobgood Park in Woodstock, GA. The purpose of this 5K is to raise money for The Laken Hope Foundation, Inc. which supports existing organizations that promote safety awareness for women, aid, and tuition assistance for nursing students and children’s healthcare. These were all causes that Laken felt strongly about, and she held near and dear to her heart. Laken Riley was a student at Augusta University after attending UGA, where she was studying to become a nurse. Laken’s untimely death was avoidable and tragic. Our ultimate goal is to promote safety awareness and prepare women in the event they are ever in danger. We will be handing out safety products and providing information centered around programs that champion safety awareness. Thank you for everyone’s continued love and support. The Live Like Laken 5K is a certified race for The Atlanta Journal & Constitution Peachtree Road Race.

RACE DAY REGISTRATION: We will be offering Day of Registration at the event. Please arrive at Hobgood Park with enough time to register and warm up before the race start time at 8:00 am. Registration will start at 7:00 am.
You will get a packet filled with your chosen t-shirt while supplies last, running bib, and other goodies.

Friday, October 25th: @ Hobgood Park (6688 Bells Ferry Road, Woodstock, GA 30189) from 12pm - 6pm
....or you can pick your packet up on race day, October 26th, at Hobgood Park.
If picking up on race day, please allow enough time to get your packet, warm up, etc. before the race start time at 8:00 am. If you register after 6:00 pm on Friday the 25th, you will have to go to the Day of Registration table at Hobgood Park to be assigned a bib number.
We will not be mailing shirts.
WEATHER: This race will be rain or shine, unless our elected officials think conditions are unsafe for patrons.
VOLUNTEER: Sign up to Volunteer by pressing the "Volunteer" button on this main page. Volunteers should arrive at 6:45 am on race day for assignments.
