Somali Parents Advocacy Center for Education

We primarily work to bridge gaps in education and care for children with autism by connecting their families with the resources they need. This is done by providing educational workshops on topics like early childhood development and language, by advocating directly for parents navigating the school system and seeking accommodations, and by providing a supportive space for all families to feel included. We also host inclusive recreational events and celebrations meant for children of all abilities and their families. 

We were founded by a Somali parent of a child with autism and are mostly staffed by fellow parents who understand the barriers that our community faces. Supporting us means that you can see our vision and understand the value that culturally competent resources can have on marginalized communities. 

We’re excited to be part of the Flutie family as their mission of providing the best possible lives for people with autism aligns with ours, and being a community partner has been fulfilling for all of our families.
