2024 Flutie 5K for Autism: West Melbourne, FL

We are happy to make accommodations wherever needed to allow you to volunteer at this year's event.

All volunteers for the 2024 Flutie 5K for Autism: West Melbourne, FL will arrive on-site at 6:00am EST to support setup, and will stay until the event is completely broken down. Each volunteer will choose one of the following roles on event day:

Pre-Race Day Bib Pickup

Taking place the day before the race on Friday, 10/6. Pre-Race Day Bib Pickup volunteers will be stationed at the Running Zone in Melbourne to help distribute race materials to participants that wish to pick up their bibs before race day. We need volunteer help from 10am-6:30pm, and will accept any help for any time you are available within that window.

Registration & Check In

Stationed at the Registration Table, volunteers in this group will be the first faces participants will see. This group will be assisting registered participants with check-in, assigning bibs, handing out t-shirts, and supporting day-of registration.

On-Course

Volunteers in this group will be responsible for setting up course signage and aid stations, and will be stationed throughout the course during the 5K to cheer on runners. This group will also share the responsibility of making sure all runners are safe, hydrated, and stay on the course while cheering loudly for every runner and walker on race day!

Finish Line

Volunteers in this group will be stationed at the Finish Line and responsible for various roles such as capturing finish line photos, handing out finisher medals, passing out water and post-race refreshments, and cheering on participants as they finish the race.

Detailed instructions will be distributed to all volunteers before race day as well as on race morning by Flutie 5K staff.

We will always work our hardest to place volunteers in their preferred role, but may not be able to guarantee exact placement due to exact volunteer needs and staffing on event day.
