Our story…
Please consider donating to my team "Champions for Chaz," to raise funds for research for the rare disease adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). 100% of the funds raised from the 8th Annual Run for ALD will directly benefit the University of Minnesota's Leukodystrophy Center for ALD Research to support their research efforts for early identification, more effective therapy and treatment options, and hopefully one day a cure for this devastating disease.
My son Chaz was diagnosed with ALD his senior year of high school in the fall of 2017. He is a 2022 graduate from Michigan Technological University with a degree in biomedical engineering. The disease has affected his spinal column and has severely limited his ability to walk. His version of the disease is adrenomyeloneuropathy (AMN), but could still affect his brain. This fundraiser directly benefits the ALD Research Fund at the University of Minnesota where Chaz goes for annual doctor appointments and tests.
We will be walking on Saturday, November 23 at 3 p.m. meeting at the Beverly Park Pavilion in Beverly Hills, Michigan. You can help us by donating to Champions for Chaz, and/or registering to walk virtually with us in Beverly Hills (you will receive a tee shirt if you register by October 23). If you just want to donate (not register to walk), you are more than welcome to walk with us! You can also register to virtually run/walk in your own home town, just make sure you go through our Champions for Chaz team.
Thank all of you who donated in the past — every dollar makes a difference!
