All you have to do is register yourself, create a team, and tell everyone you know to register under your team.
How to Participate:
- Register for the Run with Her 5k:
- Sign up for the event through our Race Roster page.
- During registration, create a team. When you do so, remember to send the link to your friends and family so that they can register under your team or let them know your team's name so they can find it when they register.
- Set Up Your Fundraising Page:
- Set your goals for your team and add a description so your team is updated.
- Customize your page with your description, photos, and reasons for supporting The Welcome Centre Shelter.
- Fundraise to Cover Your Registration Fee:
- Reach out to friends, family, and colleagues to support your team. Choose to raise additional funds, and they will go directly to the WCS's programs and enter you (or your team) for a chance to win one of our great prizes.
- Share your fundraising page on social media, via email, and in person to gather donations.
- Raise Additional Funds:
- In addition to covering your registration fee, aim to raise as much as possible to support The Welcome Centre Shelter.
- Encourage donors to contribute to your team to help you reach various prize tiers.
- Now you’ll have successfully created an extraordinary team of friends and family 👌
Rules and Details:
- Fundraising Period:
- The fundraising campaign starts on June 20th and ends September 27th, 2024
- All donations must be received by September 27, 2024, to be eligible for prizes.
- All donations must be made through RaceRoster.
- Donation Options:
- Participants can choose to fundraise to cover their registration fee and beyond.
- If you are unable to participate, you can donate directly to the campaign without registering for the run.
- Eligibility:
- Only registered run participants who raise funds through the 5k Run with Her peer-to-peer fundraising campaign are eligible for the prizes.
- Fundraisers must meet the minimum donation amounts to qualify for each prize tier.
- All Shoppers Drug Mart and Welcome Centre Employees are NOT eligible to participate in the Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Initiatives.
Prizes Tier
1st Place - $500 Cash
2nd Place - $250 Gift Card
3rd Place - Gift Basket
- Eligibility: Must have contributed $250 or more to the Run with Her campaign (via registration fees and/or additional funds raised )
- Raffle Entries by Fundraising Milestone:
- Level: $250+ - Number of Entries: 1
- Level: $500+ - Number of Entries: 3
- Level: $750+ - Number of Entries: 5

- Each registration counts
- Fundraisers who contribute $250 or more will be entered into a raffle to win a grand prize of $500 cash.
- The more you raise, the more entries you earn, increasing your chances to win!
Get Started:
- Register for the 5k Run with Her and start your fundraising journey today. This fundraiser is only for the 5K Run with Her registrant; Kids Trot are not eligible for peer-to-peer fundraising.
- Create and share your fundraising page to gather support. Make it Fun! Create a name for your team and make yourself the team captain so we can keep track of how many entries you have.
- Team Captain, this is all on you! You raise the funds, so you can decide how to split the money or not split at all!
- Aim high, raise funds!
How to Register:
- Select from the drop-down.
- Complete the information for Registrant No. 1. Select Register "Myself" to sign up yourself.
- Create a new Team and select Category. Choose a Category based on who or what referred you. For example, did someone from The Welcome tell you about the Race? If so, select Welcome Centre Shelter.
- Create a team name. Be as creative as you see fit.
- Click the option for agreement and select a T-shirt size.
- Set a fundraising goal! Let your registrants know your goal and add a description to motivate your team.
- If you are adding more registrants, click the add another registrant button.
- Select an event from the drop-down.
- Click on "Someone else."
- Fill out info
- Add This registrant to the team. Select your team.
- Click the option for agreement and select T-shirt size.
- Continue
- Read each participant's agreement and additional terms and click the appropriate options.
- Add payment info and submit payment.
- Invite your team members by sharing the link.
- And we're off! Happy Fundraising.
