5km Run for the Frontline

This is a timed 5KM run to honour and support First Responders and Frontline Workers in our community (meaning anyone who supports/helps others such as but not limited to; police, fire, paramedics, corrections, CBSA, dispatch/telecommunications, military/veterans, social workers, CYCPs, nurses, doctors, tow truck drivers, child protection workers, PSWs and many many more. If you are not a first responder or frontline worker, this event is still for you! This is an opportunity to come out and connect with those in the community who spend their life helping others. This race will take place in Canatara Park (starting and ending at the Terry Fox loop) with a scenic run through. All proceeds will go to Three Oaks Cabin and Project Mental Wellness, two organizations who specifically benefit and support First Responders and Frontline Workers in the Sarnia Lambton Community! There are two distances (5 KM and 1 KM). Don't want to run? That's no problem, you are more than welcome to walk. Service animals and dogs are more than welcome to join along!

1 KM race will start at 10:00 AM promptly - this is a free event for children ages 12 years and under (participation ribbons will be provided).

5 KM race will start at 10:15 AM promptly - any age and ability welcome! All participants in this race will receive a finishers medal and limited edition t-shirt (t-shirts are only guaranteed if you sign up before September 10).

Race Day Schedule:

8:30 AM - 9:40 AM - RACE KIT PICK UP (at the Terry Fox loop)

9:50 AM - Pre-Race stretch

10:00 AM - 1 KM kids fun run START (12 years and under)

10:15 AM - 5 KM run/walk START

RACE ROUTE (5KM)

Start: In Canatara Park (start of Terry Fox loop)

Head West to Sandy Lane

South on to Sandy Lane

East onto the walking path and following this around and alongside Michigan Avenue, looping back into the park, coming out near the entrance way to Canatara by the parking lot of the animal farm

Continuing around Lake Chipican and coming out the back near the park by the animal farm and taking a right to get back on the walking path heading East towards Sandy Lane

North onto Sandy Lane

West back into the park passing the roundabout and finishing where the start is
