Tombstone 5K

The Tombstone 5K Run/Walk timed race runs through the beautiful historic cemetery of Mount Greenwood. Scare up some fun and grab your friends and dress up for this pre-Halloween run.
We will be donating a portion of the proceeds exclusively to the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation.
Participants are encouraged to run in costume.
Female/Male overall winners will receive a pair of Brooks Ghost running shoes courtesy of Running Excels. Prize awarded to winner of Best Costume.
The race packet includes a hoodie. YOU MUST REGISTER BY MONDAY, 10-8-24 TO BE GUARANTEED A HOODIE.

Packet Pick Up
Running Excels: 10328 S. Western Ave, Chicago. Thursday 10.17.24 11am-7pm and Friday 10.18.24 from 11am--6:pm.
Race Participant Goody Bag will include a hoodie. YOU MUST REGISTER BY 10-1-24 TO BE GUARANTEED A HOODIE.
Race Day Registration
Race Day Registration will be available from 7:30-8:00 am.
Awards
TOP FEMALE and MALE RUNNERS will receive a pair of Brooks Ghost running shoes courtesy of Running Excels. Additionally, the top 3 male and female finishers in each age category will receive medals. (9 & under, 10-14, 15-19,20-24,25-29,30-34,35-39,40-44,45-49,50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over) Prizes will be given to the Best Costume. Winners of Best Costume must be present in order to receive their award.
Post Race Activities
We invite you to stay after the race for the refreshments and complimentary face painting.
Parking
Free parking is available along 111th street and area residential streets. No parking will be available inside the cemetery on race day.
Water Stations Water will be available at Mile 1, Mile 2 and at the finish of the race. Timing clocks will be located at the start and finish.
Safety
For safety reasons, bikes, skates and pets are NOT allowed on the course. Jogging strollers are permitted. We ask that you position yourself behind the runners as to not interfere with the start of the race. Walkers will be encouraged to start behind the runners.
Course Map
Start/Finish Line is the Yellow line. Green arrows denote the directions from the start line out onto the course to the turn around and Red arrows denote the direction coming back to the finish line.
