Pink Caravan

Pink Caravan is a Pan UAE breast cancer initiative that falls under Friends of Cancer Patients’ umbrella “Kashf” for early detection of cancer and aims to raise awareness around breast cancer early detection and screening methods.

Launched in 2011 under the patronage of His Royal Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, Founder and Patron of the Friends of Cancer Patients.

Pink Caravan has been traveling across the UAE since 2011, raising awareness about early detection and the disease, providing free screenings and expert medical assistance, promoting healthy lifestyles, and empowering the citizens and residents to protect themselves from the risk of this disease.

Ahead of the International Breast Cancer Awareness Month‭, ‬which is observed annually in October‭. ‬Pink Caravan‭, ‬will call on private sector organisations across the country to sign up for their‭  ‬‘Corporate Wellness Day’‭ ‬drive to educate their employees about the early detection and treatment of breast cancer‭.‬

Breast cancer affects one out of every eight^[1] women worldwide. According to Globocan 2020, breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among women in the UAE, with 1,030 women^[2] diagnosed in the country in 2020.
