Local folklore speaks of Sasquatch sightings during the early history of Little Rock AR. Through the mid to late 1800’s, several different companies harvested the forests that later became Hillcrest and the Heights neighborhoods and Allsopp Park. Loggers would tell tales of "huge, man-like beasts" roaming the woods at night. Since the dedication of Allsopp Park in 1931 and the development of surrounding areas, Sasquatch sightings have decreased but do persist. There have been multiple unconfirmed Sasquatch sightings in this area since 1932. Others believe the majority of the Sasquatch population migrated to Miller County and are now known as the “Fouke Monster”.
“Squatch Till You Drop” is a trail running event at Allsopp Park South that pays tribute to this legend. Participants will traverse these Sasquatch habitats on very technical single track that will challenge event the fittest of runners.
There are 2 separate runs that make up this event. The first is the "Fun Run", open to all ages. The Fun Run is a single lap of the course.
The second run is The Squatch, open to participant ages 16+. Participants will complete as many laps of the course as they can within 6 hours.
The course is approximately 5k. Both the Fun Run and The Squatch use the same course.
Do you have what it takes to “Squatch Till You Drop”? Register today and on November 16th take on the challenge!

Rules
- It is the responsibility of each participant to know and abide by the rules for the Fun Run and The Squatch. Failure to follow rules can lead to disqualification.
- Squatch till You Drop will take place “rain or shine”. The event is in November, when temperatures can be in the 40’s or lower. It is the participant's responsibility to dress for the weather.
- Fun Run participants will report to the start / finish area at 7:45am. At 7:50am, a brief participant orientation will be given. The Fun Run will start promptly at 8am.
- The Fun Run is one (1) lap of an approximately 5k course and must be completed by 9:30 am. Participants on the course after 9:30 am must leave the course at the closest trail exit.
- The Squatch participants will report to the start / finish area at 9:40 am. At 9:50 a brief participant orientation will be given. The Squatch will start promptly at 10am.
- The Squatch will be for the duration of 6 hours. ALL laps must be completed within this time period to be counted toward your total laps. If you cross the start/finish line at 6:00:00 or before, that lap will be counted toward your total laps. If you cross the start / finish line at 6:00:01 or later, that lap will not be counted toward your total laps. No exceptions or allowances.
- The Squatch age bracket and overall winners will be determined by number of laps completed in the allotted time. If there is a tie, a tiebreaker will be determined by chip time completion of laps (fastest time wins). If participants have the exact same time (down to the tenth of a second) and lap numbers, then we have ourselves 2 winners.
- Participants must stay on marked trails. No short-cuts or “bushwacking” allowed. Doing so will result in immediate disqualification. We have cameras in the trees and Sasquatch is watching!
- It is the participant’s responsibility to know the course.
- Participants must wear their own bib number for the duration of their run. The bib must always be visible on the outermost layer of their clothing.
- Bib numbers are non-transferable.
- For a lap to be considered “official”, the participant must pass through the start / finish line area. This allows for the timing chip to register the lap. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure this happens. Laps that are not registered as “official” will not be counted toward that participant’s total lap count. No exceptions or allowances.
- When passing another participant, call out “passing on your right/left.” Be aware of trail grade and conditions when choosing your passing side. It is up to the passing participant to pass safely.
- An aid station, providing water and sports drinks will be on course, at approximately the halfway point. There will also be an aid station at the start/finish line providing water and sports drinks. Participants will supply their own sports nutrition, such as gels. A post run meal will be available for all paid participants at the conclusion of The Squatch.
Registration Policies
- There are no refunds.
- Little Rock Parks and Recreation wants to provide a safe Event environment for all participants. Should there be a time that it is determined to be unsafe to start the Event or proceed with the Event, once it has started, the following policy may be enforced:
- Squatch Till You Drop is a “rain or shine” event. However, if weather or other conditions present a danger to participants, Little Rock Parks and Recreation maintains the right to cancel or modify the race.
- Extreme weather conditions will be recognized as “an act of god” and will not result in the refunding of Event registration fees or future Event credits.
- Public safety officials and medical authorities will be consulted prior to Event cancellation or modification. Should City of Little Rock officials, which are beyond Little Rock Parks and Recreation’s control, impact the ability of Event officials to conduct the event, the same refund policy will be in effect.
- Little Rock Parks and Recreation asserts that each participant assumes a personal responsibility when entering this running/walking event and accepts the potential risks. The Little Rock Parks and Recreation encourages all participants to take all precautions and cooperate with directives given prior to and during the Event.
- Unfortunately, almost all Event related expenses will have been incurred prior to the actual Event. Should circumstances force a modification to the course or the cancelation of the Event, the financial impact on the Event would not be any different than if the Event were held in its entirety. Thus, refunds would devastate the financial future of this event.
Swag
All paid participants will receive a “Swag Bag” in addition to your Custom Squatch Socks. Bags will be available at Packet Pick-up and Day-of the Event. One bag per entry fee.
