Founded in the 1960’s, George Whittell is a small high school surrounded by pine forests overlooking Lake Tahoe in Zephyr Cove, Nevada.
George Whittell High School's Student Council is hosting a trail race on September 28th, 2025!
The race course will cross creeks and logs alongside many trees, rocks, and squirrels.
In addition to the 5K race, we have an 800 meter fun run for the little ones. The first 10 kids to catch the Whittell Warrior (school mascot) will receive a prize!
Runners, walkers, everyone are welcome to participate and enjoy some hot chocolate, medals, and good times!! Cool mugs for the winners and t-shirts are available as well.
So sorry, but pets are NOT allowed on school property. The trail is also NOT stroller friendly unless you have a team to carry it through parts of the woods ;)

5K Trail Run. The event will be held rain, snow or shine. Sorry we are not able to provide refunds but welcome snow shoes if it snows early :D
