Join us on November 9th on Folly Beach for the 15th annual LUNG FORCE Run/Walk, the American Lung Association’s signature event to support and promote lung health. In previous years, the race was held on the street—this year, we will be running and walking the 5K on the beach! The race will begin at 9AM at the beach access located at The Dunes House at Folly Beach County Park and end with fundraising and race awards back at The Dunes House boardwalk.
It doesn't matter whether you run or walk: all are welcome at this year’s LUNG FORCE event. It’s a celebratory atmosphere for all ages and abilities.
There’s even a Walk Your Way virtual option for those who can’t make it to the event.
Lung cancer is the #1 cancer killer of both men and women in the U.S., and every five minutes a woman in this country learns she has lung cancer. Through the American Lung Association’s dedication to lung cancer research, lung cancer mortality rates have decreased by 11.5% since 2013. There’s still work to be done to raise awareness and the research funding needed to defeat lung cancer once and for all.
Funds raised through the 2021 South Carolina LUNG FORCE Run/Walk provides critical funds for our lung health programs, life-saving research and advocacy including our local Families Kickin’ Asthma program for children with asthma and their families, early detection initiatives, efforts for clean air in South Carolina communities, and lung disease research including our COVID-19 Action Initiative.
Register today and save your spot. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about this year's event.
