Some of our favorite Blue-Blazed New England Trail sections have recently been devastated by wildfires and the recovery is going to be long and expensive. This is a cross-state community effort inspired by a collective of trail running and hiking communities across the state, including the CT Trailmixers, the Shenipsit Striders, the West Rock Ramblers, the CULTRA podcast crew, and the Connecticut Forest & Parks Association (CFPA). Whether you consider yourself a runner, hiker, or someone who simply enjoys immersing yourself in natural open spaces, come and join the party! Wildfire Relief Day will offer a welcoming, family-friendly setting and a one-mile loop course that participants are encouraged to complete as many times as they wish in a three-hour period.

Event Logistics
How it Works
Run, walk, or hike a one-mile loop around the pond at YMCA Camp Sloper in Southington as many times as you’d like during the three hours of the event (9:00 am - noon). The route is mostly flat with a few gentle hills and includes crushed gravel, dirt road, and single track.
Everyone who completes at least one lap (one mile) will receive a finisher prize. There might even be special prizes for those who log the most miles during those three hours!
Registration will cap at 200 participants.
Aid station and facilities
There will be one aid station and bathroom facilities that you’ll pass each lap
Getting there
Use 1000 East Street, Southington in GPS for YMCA Camp Sloper. There should be plenty of onsite parking.
