Our story…
The walk starts @8am come earlier to sign in. I became sick with nausea, vomiting, anemia at the age of 34.I had been suffering for 11 years of an enlarged heart and congestive heart failure/postpartum cardiomyopathy after giving birth in 1984 via C-section.I was informed 1995 my heart was the size of a softball. My first heart transplant was November 1995.I was put on the donor list 4 months prior to receiving my new heart. The surgery was a success. In October 2002 I went to have my 7 year biopsy everything looked well.In January of 2003 I wasn’t feeling too well went to the doctor for a check up.He sent me straight to the hospital I got admitted for tests.Afterwards the doctors came to talk to me about results and suggested for a second transplant. I agreed to it and was placed back on the donor list for the second time.Within 6 months I got notified of new heart available. After transplant I began to have complications and was placed in an induced coma for 2 weeks. When I woke I was told about what had happened during that time and it wasn’t on the hands of the doctor that had brought me back.My pastor informed me that nobody thought I was going to make it, listening to them and my family I knew then it was only by the grace of the Lord. Here I am 20 years later and I’m still here by the grace of GOD!!
