Join us at our 9th annual Second Chance 5K
The Second Chance 5K in Las Vegas is about much more than physical activity and crossing the finish line. It is an impactful community event full of hope, healing and connection.
Together, we'll unite as individuals and communities impacted by substance use disorders. We'll celebrate second chances, learn about local resources and walk alongside those grieving loss, as well as those bravely taking steps on the journey of recovery.
This event is for everyone! No matter your age or fitness level, let’s leave behind the weight of shame surrounding addiction, while taking steps forward towards more healing and love.
Your support and participation makes a difference. Every registration supports local recovery efforts, bringing vital resources, support and second chances to individuals and families in need.
We invite you to register today. Come walk, jog, bike or run with us. We are so excited to share our favorite morning of the year with you. We believe in second chances. Do you?
Answers to frequently asked questions about the event
All ages and fitness levels are welcome! You can walk, jog, run, bike, roller blade, push a stroller, or hang out by the vendor tables and food trucks.
There is no official timer. No race bibs. No competition. Feel free to time yourself, but the focus of this event is community and connection. It doesn't matter how long it takes you to cross the finish line. There will be people cheering you on the whole way!
The 5K route is 3.1 miles around the beautiful Vistas Loop in Summerlin. We start at Givens Elementary School, move up around North Tower Park then down towards South Tower Park before finishing back at Givens. Feel free to bring your dogs on leashes.
Plan to stop by the 25+ resource tables offering education and support, and come hungry to enjoy the food trucks. There will be a DJ and free face painting/ balloon animals to enjoy as well.

Memorial Walk
A portion of our 5K is dedicated to siblings, friends, children, parents, and grandparents that our Second Chance community has lost because of substance use. It is a beautiful tribute to lives that were lived and ended too soon.
The 2025 5K deadline for Memorial Walk submissions has passed. We would love to honor your loved one at our next event.
Recovery Walk
We believe in second chances and are excited to celebrate recovery along the race route! If you will be attending the 5K and would like to share your "before and after" pictures with us, we would love to showcase that piece of your story on the route. Your pictures may inspire other participants to bravely chose recovery and believe that recovery is possible.
The 2025 5K deadline for Recovery Walk submissions has passed. We would to showcase your photos at our next event.
Resource Tables
A highlight of our event is sharing local opportunities for support with our Second Chance 5K community. If your organization provides relevant resources to the local recovery community, we invite you to join our resource fair by purchasing a table during the registration process. Space is limited and your $100 fee will cover the costs of the table rental and two chairs. If your organization chooses to sponsor our event as a silver or gold sponsor, the option of a resource table is included in the sponsorship package.
