An Iconic Race Turns 45!
The 45th running of the Calgary Police Classic (formerly Calgary Police Half Marathon) will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025 and start/finish at Cowboys Park (formerly Shaw Millennium Park).
Celebrating its 45th year, the race has a new look, new name, and new venue. The Calgary Police Classic is a fall road race that boasts a fast and flat half-marathon course, a new 8 km event (not the traditional 5 km and 10 km races), as well as a kids race for the first time ever.

Participants will be able to choose between an in-person event on Saturday, September 20, or the virtual race experience that runs from Sept 21 to Oct 19.

Fundraising in Support of Calgary Police Youth Foundation
The Calgary Police Youth Foundation, in collaboration with the Calgary Police Service and other community partners, supports youth programming in Calgary that provides wrap around services to individuals who are at risk of criminal involvement or becoming victims of crime.
Over the last 8 years, this event has raised over $124,000 for CPYF.
Event schedule
- Sat, September 20, 2025 7:30 a.m. - 8 km Race Starts
- Sat, September 20, 2025 8:15 a.m. - 21.1 km Race Starts
- Sat, September 20, 2025 10:00 a.m. - Kids Race Starts
Prices now include all processing fees. Participants will be charged 5% GST tax in addition to the race entry fee listed.
All entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE
- All registration fees are non-refundable with the exception of those that enrolled in the Race Roster Enhanced Refund Protection Program at the time of registration and their unforeseen circumstance is covered by their policy.
- During registration, there is the option to protect your purchase by enrolling in the Race Roster Enhanced Refund Protection Program for a small fee. Participants that enroll in the refund program will be refunded if they are unable to attend due to a variety of unforeseen circumstances, such as injury & illness, COVID-19, severe weather, work travel conflict, layoffs/termination or mechanical breakdown. - Like all insurance policies there are exclusions, so please read the fine print. The insurance does not cover your entry fee if we are forced to cancel the event.
- In the case of in-person race cancellation, all 2025 in-person participants registered in the Calgary Police Classic will automatically be transferred to the virtual event.
Transferring Distances or Transferring Your Bib to Another Person
- Distance Transfers and Participant Transfers are both allowed.
- Distance Transfers can be completed online until Sept 7, 2025 at 11:59pm MT. Transfers on/after Sept 8, 2025 can be completed in-person at Package Pick-up. Please note, if certain distances have already sold out and reached capacity, it is not guaranteed that you will be able to switch distances.
- In the event that you can't participate in a race and you have not enrolled in the Refund Protection Program, you can transfer your registration to someone else.
- Participant Transfers can be completed online until Friday, September 19 at 2:00pm MT.
