10. REGULATIONS
The existing FMAA will be in effect.
11. GUIDELINES
The Mexico City Half Marathon is endorsed by the FMAA and AIMS.
• BIB NUMBER:
A timing chip will be affixed to the participant, programmed with the assigned participation number, which will be non-transferable and must be displayed in front of the participant at chest height during the entire race to be recognized as an official runner.
• HEALTHCARE COST INSURANCE
In the event of an accident, the runner must possess the number, or coverage will not apply. It is essential to write the runner's name on the back of the number, along with their blood type, and any allergies or medical conditions must also be noted.
• SERVICES:
The designated supply area for runners with numbers must be respected.
• RECOVERY PLAN:
The finisher's medal, fruit, water, and isotonic drink are exclusively for runners with their official number.
Runners without a number will be disqualified from the race and will not have access to the recovery area.
• T-SHIRT DIMENSION:
The inquiry regarding shirt size during the registration process is solely for statistical purposes, and this does not obligate the Organizing Committee to supply the runner with the selected size.
• DEPARTURE OF PARTICIPANTS:
Participants must ensure they arrive at the designated starting point, as indicated by their registration information. Any participant who enters at a location other than their assigned one will face disqualification.
For the benefit of themselves and all other runners, it is crucial to adhere to the starting block.
• RESULTS:
Checkpoints will be established throughout the entire route for timekeeping purposes; it is crucial to pass through all checkpoints to prevent disqualification. As runners navigate the checkpoints, their race can be tracked in real time via the Half Marathon App; it is important to note that the times and results published are not official.
• UNOFFICIAL PARTICIPANTS:
They are not allowed on the race and will be instructed to exit the route. Any person without an official registration who enters or accompanies a participant during the event will be required to leave the route without delay.
These unauthorized runners affect the safety and quality of service for those who have registered and paidappropriately. Furthermore, participants found with a fraudulent number will face penalties and will be prohibited from competing in events under the “Mexico City Marathon” brand (including races leading up to the Marathon, 21 km, and the Marathon) in subsequent years.
• ROUTE DETERMINATION:
Participants are required to stay within the boundaries of the route defined by fences, signs, or other indicators at all times. Participants must acknowledge and comprehend the event signage and the symbols utilized for race directions and services, and adhere to the instructions provided by the authorities.
Noncompliance will lead to disqualification
• TIME FRAME:
Running at a pace of up to 08:30 minutes per kilometer will be allowed, which corresponds to finishing the course in a maximum time of 3 hours. If a runner falls behind this time, they will be required to board the sweeper vehicle that will follow them and transport them to the finish line. These runners will be disqualified and will not be counted in the official results.
• ROUTE SUPERVISION:
Failure to finish the entire course or to cross the finish line will lead to disqualification. Participants with incomplete or irregular readings on the official mats will be subject to inspection and may face disqualification. If a participant needs to exit the course or re-enter, this can only occur at the same location, and they may not re-enter the race for the purpose of gaining a position or assisting another competitor.
NOTE: Any runners found to be engaging in unsportsmanlike conduct, such as taking shortcuts along the course to finish without completing the full distance, will be disqualified.
12. JUDGES
The judges will be approved by the FMAA, and an electronic timing system will be utilized, employing a chip affixed to the printed competitor number, which must be worn at the front during the entire race (this system serves only as support and does not decide the winners).
