Honoring the memory of Big Bill Robinson, the co-founder of Fit2Run, and father of President Parks Robinson, The Big Bill Foundation was founded in 2020.
Bill Robinson, who partnered with Manatee County in the late 2000s to turn 487 acres of rehabilitated farmland into the hiking trails and mangrove habitats in northwest Bradenton now known as Robinson Preserve, passed in 2020, following a hard-fought battle with leukemia at the age of 70. The Big Bill Foundation was created to honor the legacy of Bill, who loved running, surfing, going for long walks outdoors, and spending time with his family.
Bill was one of the original board members of the Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates, SANCA, and served as chairman from 2014–18. He dedicated countless hours of service to make SANCA and Nathan Benderson Park a success.
Bill’s passion for sport, the community and his family was evident to anyone who spent time with him. Bill Robinson was a great leader and mentor, who had a natural gift to inspire and motivate.
The Big Bill Foundation has the privilege of providing scholarships to those who have battled or are currently battling childhood cancer. To date, over $75,000 in scholarships have helped change the lives of those in need.

All awards must be picked-up on race day! If award is not picked up on race day, you may email fit2time@fit2run.com and schedule a mutual date/time to pick-up your award from the Fit2Run Corporate Office or at a Fit2Run location in the Manasota area.* You can also pay $10 to have it shipped to you.
*Please email Fit2Time to discuss what store you would like to pick it up at so that way we can make sure it is on site. If you do not, it will not be at the store.
Can Someone Else Pick-Up My Race Packet?
Yes! Please provide the individual picking up your race packet with your information, but most importantly, your permission to do so. Once a race packet has been picked up for an individual, we cannot issue you a new race number.
Are Dogs/Strollers Allowed?
Yes! If you have a dog or a stroller, please start in the back of the start corral. Children in strollers do not need to be registered, but must remain in their stroller for the entirety of the race.
My Child is Signed Up For The 5K, Can They Run the Kids Dash?
Yes! But if they are only signed up for the Kids Dash, you would need to purchase a registration for them to do the 5K.
I signed up for the 1-Mile but want to run the 5K. What should I do?
The timed 5K has a price differential which must be paid to participate in the 5K. Please discuss this with a Fit2Time or Big Bill Foundation team member at the Registration tent.
When will the free race entry winner be announced?
The free race entry winner will be announced on social media on race day.
What Do I Do If I Misplace My Race Bib?
Please go directly to the Information Tent/Registration Tent and we will gladly cancel your misplaced bib number and issue you a new one.
Where should I park?
On race day, please park in the Rossi Park Parking lot, located near the Pavilion & Event Area and the Bradenton Riverwalk Splash Pad. If the parking lot is full, please look for parking in the Courtyard Bradenton Sarasota/Riverfront Parking lot, or in the Manatee Performing Arts Center Parking Lot. There is also public parking available along Riverfront Blvd. *Please note, we are not liable for any towing or fines that may occur from any parking or related activities. Park at your own risk. Please follow the signage in parking lots placed there by the owning entities.*
Participant safety is our number one priority, so please make sure to listen to all announcements made by the DJ and race staff. Please keep headphones at low volume for your safety and that of those around you. If you have a medical emergency, please notify a Fit2Time team member or Volunteer immediately.
We value runner safety. In the event of severe weather conditions, the director(s) reserve the right to cancel the race for the safety of its participants. Registrations cancelled due to inclement weather will not be refunded, but instead used to cover event costs, with the balance being treated as a charitable donation to the event beneficiary.
Conditions that may result in event cancellation include (but are not limited to): lightning, high winds, flooding, fires, and other acts of God.
Pre-race cancellations for extenuating circumstances will be dealt with on a case by case basis. All cancellations are subject to a $5 service fee per transaction, as well as the original processing fee paid. All requests for cancellations and refunds must be received at least 14 days prior to race day to be considered. Thank you for understanding.
