This June 29th, 2025 a group of dedicated volunteers have organized the inaugural Mikey’s Run. This event will take place on the beautiful trails around Burnaby Lake, and will include a 10 km run, a 5 km walk and a kids’ run.
The objective of the run is to bring awareness to the important topic of Men’s’ mental health. A disproportionate number of men suffer from depression, and it’s potentially devastating consequences.
Mikey’s Run is aligned with and supporting the wonderful organization Heads Up Guys, a group dedicated to bringing awareness and resources to the area of Men’s mental health. Mikey’s Run is also honouring the memory of Mike, an amazing young man who silently battled depression.
As Mike was an avid runner who trained on the beautiful trails around Burnaby Lake, it seems a fitting way to honour his memory. Mikey’s Run will be an opportunity for people to come together to help make a difference in the battle to improve men’s mental health.

Volunteer Details
We're looking for volunteers for all race-day positions! If you're interested, please register as a volunteer and our volunteer coordinator will be in touch with you in the coming weeks. What's better than volunteering to help with Mikey's Run!? Doing it with a friend! Grab a freind who may be interested and register together and we will do our best to put you together!

All race registrations are non-refundable. However, we understand that plans can change, so we offer the following options:
Transfers
- You may transfer your race entry to another participant until May 31st, 2025.
- As long as there is space in your desired distance, you may switch distances until May 31st, 2025.
- A $5.00 transfer fee applies all transfers or distance changes.
- To initiate a transfer, please contact us at evan@fitfirst.ca.
Event Cancellation Policy
In the event of race cancellation due to weather, government orders, or other circumstances beyond our control, registrations will not be refunded. We will offer deferral options or a virtual race alternative where possible.
