Thank you for volunteering with Look Out Trail Race! We are excited to welcome about 200 runners to the Campus Trails on Saturday, June 14th. Please read below for details about each position and feel free to contact us if you have any questions at northbayroadrace@gmail.com
This is the schedule for the day:
8:00 Same-day registration (limited) and Kit Pickup
8:45 Kid’s Race start
9:15 7k/14k/Half Marathon Start
~2:00 Course cut-off (Tyler and I will make sure everyone finishes safely)
Marshalls 8:00-12:00
*START AT START/FINISH*
Thank you for helping direct the runners! You will be responsible for making sure the runners stick to the course. Marshall 1 will be with the Kid's Race until 9:15 and then will switch to an on-course position. Marshall 2 will be on-course from 9:00 onward.
Both marshalls should come prepared with water, snacks, and BUG SPRAY!
Feel free to bring music and a bluetooth speaker, cowbells, a folding chair, or anything else that will help you cheer on the runners.
Both marshalls will be done around 12:00
Aid Station (3.5km) 8:30-2:00
*START AT 3.5KM AID STATION*
The aid station tent and tables will be in place - please set up the table with snacks and drinks ready-to-go. Note, this is a cupless event, so you will be pouring water/drinks from pitchers into runners' water bottles.
You will also be an important point of contact for the medical staff positioned at the aid station, so please set your ringers to LOUD!
Once the runners are on their last lap we will have a cyclist loop around the course to confirm who the last few runners are. Once those runners are through the 3.5km point then you can pack everything back up.
Setup 6:30-9:00:
*START AT START/FINISH*
We will have tents, signage, and various other equipment to set up on race-day morning. We are aiming to get everything set up by 7:30 - so it will be a rush of movement and then you will switch to "packet pickup". You will be handing out Bibs to each runner who comes in. We will show you the procedure to follow, but it is very important to keep each runner's name and Bib Number organized so that their results are tagged to their name.
You will also be handing out hats to only those runners who have pre-ordered them. We might have hats available for sale on race day if they don't sell out - in which case you will also be handing hat sales.
Once the races are done your shift is over - but you are welcome to stick around and drink some coffee and cheer on the runners!
Aid Station Start/Finish 8:15-2:00:
*START AT START/FINISH*
The aid station tent and tables will be in place - please set up the table with snacks and drinks ready-to-go. Note, this is a cupless event, so you will be pouring water/drinks from pitchers into runners' water bottles.
Once the runners are mostly done you will start packing everything up and leaving a small amount of food/drink for runners still finishing up.
Start/Finish Floater 7:30-1:00:
*START AT START/FINISH*
We are always rushing around to do something on race day - you'll have to be flexible in terms of where we need you. Likely you will be assisting with Packet Pick-up, marshalling the Kid's Race, and possibly delivering supplies to the aid station.
THANK YOU!!!
- Colin and Tyler
