Get ready for our 2nd annual summer track festival! On the evening of Friday, July 25th, we're replacing the roads with the track, over at Medway High School in Arva!
Come experience the MAGIC 🪄 of running 12.5 laps (5K) around the oval 🔁. For the most part, the general population only gets the opportunity to run this distance on the roads. We're bringing a unique flair to running 'fast' - all paces, abilities, and members of the London running community are welcome to run, with the various 'heats' that work their way through the evening! NEW this year, we're capping off the evening with a team 4 x 400m relay race!
What about the little ones!? BRING THEM!!! We have 3 KIDS races intertwined as well!
We strongly believe that giving kids the opportunity to participate in sport will lead them on to a healthy lifestyle, fulfilment in school, and a strong sense of work ethic and belonging. Our kids races range from 100M, 400M (1 lap), and 1KM (2.5 laps). Kids MUST be registered by a parent or guardian. A FANTASTIC way to get your children excited for back-to-school activity!
Summer Track Fest is a grassroots & unsanctioned event, with the goal of bringing our running community together as the sun goes down. Use this event as a time trial on Medway HS's soft surfaced track, where pancake flat running, fast times, and cheering on your friends, children, and community is a guarantee!
Your $15 entry fee will go towards our efforts in booking out the venue, with further proceeds going towards youth programs put on by London Western Track and Field Club. Kids events are FREE!
There will be complimentary water, orange slices, watermelon, and freezies for everyone. Non-alcoholic beverages & run specific nutrition, ie. pop, juice, kombucha & Xact bars will be available for purchase (by card only). There is plenty of parking in front of the track.

5:20 PM - Opening announcements
5:35 PM - Kids 100M run (ages 3-6)
5:45 PM - Kids 400M run (ages 5-9)
6:00 PM - 5,000M | 1st Heat | 32:00 - 23:00
6:35 PM - Kids 1K run (ages 6-12)
6:45 PM - 5,000M | 2nd Heat | 22:59 - 19:00
7:15 PM - 5,000M | 3rd Heat | 18:59 - 15:59
7:40 PM | 4 x 400m Team Relay
8:00 - 8:15 PM - Closing Remarks & Awards, track closing
*Dedicated pace rabbits 🐇 are provided for each 5,000M heat. Pacers will do their best to hit the mark on the fastest end of each heat. Example 1, for the first heat, our pace rabbit will be targeting 27:00 schedule. Example 2, for the 3rd and final heat, our pace rabbit will be targeting 15:59 schedule.
**You must be at least 13 years of age to participate in our 5,000M events. Youth 13-15 MUST be registered by a parent/guardian, and must be onsite with them at check-in.
***We're taking it back OLD-SCHOOL on the timing front. This is not a chip-timed event. You will receive a popsicle stick once you cross the finish line with your placing and finish time. Anyone remember these days?!?!
