Once again, I’m proud to be participating in the Walk, Run & Wheel fundraising event in support of Wellwood — an incredible organization that provides free support and programs for individuals living with cancer, as well as their loved ones and caregivers. Wellwood offers a safe, welcoming space where people can connect, heal, and find a sense of community during life’s most difficult challenges. Their programs provide hope, friendship, and belonging. In 2022, what was supposed to be a routine hysterectomy turned into something life-changing when I was diagnosed with a rare form of uterine cancer. Hearing the word “cancer” is terrifying — but connecting with others who truly understand makes the journey less overwhelming. That’s what Wellwood did for me. They’ve been a vital part of my healing, and thanks to donations from events like this, Wellwood can continue offering their programs at no cost to those who need them most.
