Sarcoma Sucks....but together we can do something about it. Help us take the fight to Sarcoma, which is a rare but aggressive form of cancer that impacts 1% of adult cancers and 15 to 20% of childhood cancers. Sarcoma research is badly needed to provide breakthroughs that lead to better outcomes for patients. 17,000 people will be diagnosed with Sarcoma each year. We need more Sarcoma Survivors - and that starts with us!
This unique 3.20 total mile run/walk is in memory of Jen Harman, a beloved Mother of 2 that lost her battle with Sarcoma two years ago. Her battle with Sarcoma left Jen without pain-free mobility, and it robbed her of her independence. We wanted to create an event where we could celebrate what a gift it is to be able to move our bodies pain-free - a gift we often take for granted.
We will have a standard 5k track of 3.1 miles with chip timing by Start2Finish, but Jen's birthday is March 20 (3.20 if you'll go with me on this) - so we will work a little harder and push a little further, just as Jen did in her fight. We are asking all participants to complete the standard 5k track and do a 0.1 mile Memorial Walk to go 3.20 miles to honor Jen's birthday, as well as the start of Spring and the new hope that comes with it!
This event will be the soft launch of our annual event supporting the Sarcoma Foundation of America. As this is our first year, we have to admit this will be a work in progress, but we are working hard to plan an event that Jen would be proud of. We also welcome virtual participation via the Sleep-In Supporter option, which can be as creative as you want it to be! You can either set up a team with fundraising goals or donate individually and move 3.20 miles however you see fit from wherever you are. Wear a fun outfit (make sure you have on some Yellow for Sarcoma Awareness), take pictures, have fun, and share them to our pages on social media using #sarcomasucks.
Sarcoma does indeed Suck. Let's join together to fight it and help create more Sarcoma Survivors!
Register by 5:00pm on Tuesday, March 11th to be guaranteed a chance to buy a race shirt! Anyone registering after that can buy shirts if available.

- Race Management reserves the right to cancel or modify the event due to unfavorable conditions
- Registration fees are not refundable in the event of cancellation due to "Acts of God".
