Join us on Sunday, May 25th, 2025 at Mount Crawford Forest for a training + come and try day you won't want to miss!
Harness Dog Sports encompass a wide variety of sports, but all centre on one thing: the bond with your dog. Dryland winter sports include: canicross, bikejor, scooter, and rig.
For those of you with little or no experience, we'll start the morning off with an introduction to harness dog sports class where you and your dog can learn all the basics on the ground. Please bring a flat collar, a leash, 2L water per dog + more for yourself, a helmet, enclosed shoes, and a chew proof means of securing your dog. All other gear will be provided. PLEASE NOTE: Registration is required for this class as we only have so much gear to loan out!
The intro class will be followed by a chance to run the short 1.6km trail loop, which will be marshalled by experienced SASDC members incase you need assistance. The morning is open to all who wish to watch (no registration required!).
For those of you who are experienced or members of SASDC and ASSA, you'll have open access to the groomed 1.6km and 2.8km trails for canicross, bikejor, scooter, or rig.

Join us for a quick introduction to harness dog sports. We’ll explain how all the gear works and the basic commands. Gear will be provided for those who do not have their own. Then you'll have an opportunity to put it all together on a short 1.6km marked trail, bunted and marshalled to make sure everyone gets around safely.
