8th Annual Solstice Swim

Welcome to the 8th Annual Sunshine Coast Solstice Swim Event!

Presented by the Alexandra Headland Rotary Club and Alexandra Headland Surf Lifesaving Club, the Sunshine Coast Solstice Swim is a healthy and fun community swim event, run by the community for the community.

There are swim distances of 1km, 3km and 5km and a new event distance of 500 metres, the Solstice Swim Junior Dash - perfect for younger competitors or first timers to ocean swimming.


Also new this year is the introduction of timing anklets by our event partner Multisport Australia, to provide peace of mind for all of our swimmers and their supporters that everyone who enters the water is accounted for and at the conclusion of the event, all swim participants will be able to look up their results in real time.


All swim distances will be fully chaperoned by the amazing surf lifesavers at Alexandra Headland Surf Lifesaving Club.

Race times:

  • 5km – 8.10am – assemble on the beach for swim briefing

8.20 am - race starts

  • 500m – 8.25am – assemble on the beach for swim briefing

8.35 am - race starts

  • 3km – 8.40am – assemble on the beach for swim briefing

8.50 am - race starts

  • 1km – 8.55am – assemble on the beach for swim briefing

9.05 am - race starts

Late entry and on the day pricing applies after 12 noon on Saturday 21st June.

Event Information

Each swim distance will commence with a wave start with approximately 3 minutes between each wave group.

All swim results including age group results will be available via the MultiSport Australia website.

All swimmers receive:

  • Solstice Swim T-shirt
  • Swim cap
  • Fruit and drink on completion
  • Instant swim completion time
  • Position in male or female age group


Solstice Swim Beneficiaries

All proceeds from the 2025 Solstice Swim will be donated to these amazing organisations helping folks on the coast.
