Join us in Crystal Lake on Wednesday, June 25 for open water swim clinic geared towards triathletes and open water swimmers. All clinics start at promptly at 6:30 p.m with check in at 6:15 p.m. If it rains or we are not allowed in the water, all participants can defer to another clinic or 50% of the registration fee will be refunded per participant request. We do our best to communicate to the participants by 5 p.m. if any weather related issues.
Clinic topics: wetsuit tips, OW sighting practice, starts, race strategies and positioning, pack swimming, time trial starts, how to swim in a straight line with others, goggle and various equipment choices. We will be doing a mock race on the last session on July 9.
Our instructors include: Jennifer Harrison of JHC Coaching, Gemma Hollis, triathlete and Owner of Push Glide Kick instructor and coach. Trudy Wakeman, Owner of Race Production by Trudy and triathlete.

Jennifer Harrison (JHC Coaching) has been
coaching athletes for 20 years. Jennifer coaches a wide variety of athletes from pure runners to Ironman athletes. She works with all levels of athletes from beginners to professional athletes. She is an accomplished triathlete winning area sprint races to participating in the Hawaii Ironman. Her love for swimming brings her knowledge to the lake shore.
Gemma Hollis founder of Push Glide Kick LLC. Originally from the UK, Gemma settled in The Woodlands TX after living and working outside the UK for the last 16yrs, in Dubai, Singapore and more recently California. She is focused on balancing technique with training to ensure efficiency and effective development for all. As an avid triathlete, passionate about the sport and helping people achieve their goals within it. Gemma understands the importance of swimming in triathlon, also how swimming in open water is different to the pool and the skills required to be successful.
The cost of the clinic covers admittance into Crystal Lake Main Beach, Coach instruction, Lifeguard coverage, and the area of the water to swim in.
If it rains and we are not allowed in the water you may transfer to another clinic or request a 50% refund. Either choice must be done by contacting trudywakeman@gmail.com.
Crystal Lake Main Beach has a parking lot directly across from the beach. No fee to park. The beach house has restrooms and a changing area, along with an outdoor shower (brr...it can be chilly). We will meet as a group on the 'left' side of the building.
Our swim area is open without ropes and there are dedicated lifeguards for our group. There will be shoreline instructions along with in water practices with entrance, group swim, and exit practices. The lake can be as cool as 60 and as warm as 70. Come prepared for either.
