Volunteer Roles
Volunteer shift lengths and times will vary between 6:30am-2:00pm based on role and location. Find out more our available volunteer positions below:
Aid Station Attendants:
We have aid stations located at the start line and finish line, at Checkpoints 1-3, and at Cleveland Dam. Our Aid Stations will be supplied with hydration and food to sustain runners throughout the race. As an Aid Station Attendant, your role is to help your Team Captain to set-up the station, make sure that the station is always filled and ready for racers, and to cheer racers on!
Course Marshals:
We have Course Marshal positions along the race course from Ambleside Park to the Peak of Grouse Mountain (excluding the Grouse Grind). In this important position, you'll be directing racers along the route and ensuring they don't get lost, whilst also cheering them on! You will also be responsible for contacting First Aid if assistance is required for one of the runners. On the morning of the event, you will be briefed by your Section Lead about the health and safety protocols related to the race, and will be given the emergency contact list.
Marshal terrain varies and you could be positioned on a road, path, or trail. A Section Lead will ensure you get to the correct position on the race course. You may be required to walk on variable terrain for up to 2km to access your marshal point and a cellphone will be required so that you're able to report any First Aid incidents.
Bag Check Support:
In this role, you could be based at Ambleside or Grouse Mountain to ensure bags are labelled and returned to their correct owner.
Medal Dispensers:
Celebrate with participants as they cross the finish line by awarding each of them with a Seek the Peak participant medal! You may also be asked to assist at the Finish Line Aid Station or other areas of the Mountaintop Celebration.
