Cycle for Safety - Ride to Cory's

In memory of Memphis Thunder Racing Founder, Cory Horton,

who was tragically killed by a vehicle while on a training ride.

This donations-only ride is a great opportunity to come out and do what we all love with great support from Memphis Thunder Racing; not to mention, for a great cause. Bringing attention to safe cycling and cooperation between motorists and drivers is our focus through the donations made to this event. Remembering Cory Horton, one of MTR’s founding members, is another goal of this event.

This year we will have a shorter 41 mile ride for "A", "B" or "C" riders, in addition to the 66 mile ride stopping at Cory's memorial site for "A" & "B" riders. There will be one SAG stop for short and three for long.

Paces (hilly terrain):

  • A group: 21-25 mph average
  • B group: 17-20 mph average
  • C group: 15-16 mph average

Registration and donations are not refundable in the event of cancellation due to "Acts of God".

Free safety ankle strap and water bottle with $20 or more donation while supplies last!

Donate $20 or more to also be entered into a drawing for a free registration to the Memphis in May Sprint from BBSC Endurance Sports

Registration will close April 4th at 6:00 PM. Don’t worry, you can also register the day of the event!

2025 STARTING LOCATION: Latting Speed Shop @ 8100 Macon Station, Cordova, TN 38018

CFS funds have been used to purchase "Share The Road" and "Give 3 Feet" road signs in Germantown, Collierville, Lakeland and Somerville. Free "Share the Road" car stickers were distributed at LBS. In addition, funds are now being used to put up billboards throughout the greater Memphis area to remind drivers to give bicycles 3 feet.

7:30 am On-Site REQUIRED Check-in & On-Site Registration Begins.

8:15 am - Announcements & Staging by Pace.

8:30 am Start of 41 and 66 mile Rides.
