My Story…
It’s that time of year again – time for the 16th annual “Run For The Door” 5K race in Denver this June! I turned 62 in May and will be retiring in July, but I'm still Running For The Door - 16 years in a row now!!!
For 2025, I am personally trying to raise $25K for one of my favorite charities, Open Door Ministries (ODM). Last year I was able to raise over $24,000 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of this great non-profit. This enabled us to raise over $121,000 with all of the other runners / fundraisers.
This year, we have been blessed by a very generous donor who will match every dollar donated by June 7th - up to $100,000!!! Would you please consider donating a generous gift and help us double the impact this year?

This year’s Run for the Door was an incredible success thanks to YOU. With two generous matching gifts—a $100,000 pre-race match and a $10,000 Race Day match—we raised an amazing $239,722.98 to help fight poverty in Denver!

For nearly 30 years, Open Door Ministries has provided practical help and Christ's hope to people who are overcoming homelessness or poverty in our city. Through 18 distinct programs under four focus areas -- Housing, Children & Youth, Outreach and Leadership Development -- we believe the best way to serve our friends is to surround them with support, holistically empowering them to overcome obstacles, attain self-sufficiency, and thrive!
