Who Is Eligible to Race, and Can Other People Join Me for the Fun Run?
Eligibility:
All Blizzard Paid Full Time, TEA, Interns, Contingent/Contract Employees Globally*, and their Households. Please note that anyone On Leave is not eligible to participate.
Irvine Only:
You may bring your household (partner, spouse, children, or those that live with you) to join our on-campus event. They will not receive a t-shirt, but will receive a race bib.
Be sure to list your household guests on your registration form so they are able to get through the Security gate. If they are not on the list when we provide it to Security on Monday, May 5th at 5:00 p.m. PST, you will need to add them manually through the Visitor Request Form. If you need to add a guest prior to when we submit the list to security on May 5th at 5 p.m., please click on the "Modify RSVP" found in your email to add them to the event.

Virtual Guest Runners:
We encourage your friends and family to join you! They do not need to register, and do not need to download the virtual race app (this is for employees who are running virtually only). Please note that if they are choosing to run with you, they do so on their own, voluntarily, and are not in any way associated with the Blizzard Fun Run, nor fall under any liability if injuries occur. Be sure to check out all the details on the Fun Run 2025 "Virtual Race Instructions" tab on the left of this page.
Why is it there no 10K this year?
The Fun Run will officially be a 5k in order to maintain consistency between all North American and International offices.
Is There a Team Run This Year?
There is no official team division this year. Please feel free to run, jog or walk with your co-workers at one of our live events or virtually.
Can My Dog Join Me for the Fun Run?
Irvine Location Only:
Yes, and we encourage it! For Blizzard employees that want to run or walk with their dogs must start in the last wave of the Fun Run for safety reasons.
You must register your pet via Support Desk by April 29th. When registering for the Fun Run, please check the box on the registration form. We will be cross-referencing your dog registration against your Support Desk approval.

DOGS MUST BE ON A LEASH AT ALL TIMES.

Virtual Runners:
We encourage you to run with your pup/pet! When you take a picture of you and your pet on the Run you can get a commemorable dog bandana for your four-legged pal! At the end of the race, upload a picture that you took along your Fun Run journey and post it to the #blizzard-fun-run Slack channel. We love seeing your doggos, so be sure to get that picture - we will check it out and then send your pup a bandana!
Will our Dogs Get a Bandana This Year?
Yes, all dogs that participate in the run will receive either a small or large bandana. Please make sure you check that your dog will be participating in the run and what size they need.
Can I Just Walk (AKA is There a Time Limit for This Run)?
You can run, jog, or walk either the 5k. There is no time limit, just be aware you will only get paid for a certain amount of time (see next question).
Do I Need to Clock Out for the Fun Run?
To show our support for wellness initiatives, all runners who participate get paid to do so.
• 1 hour - 5K
The time should be coded as Company Paid-Voluntary. Please clock out for the event and work with your manager to adjust the time with the aforementioned coding.
Can I run in Cosplay or Costume?
Fun Run participants are permitted to dress in cosplay or costume for the Fun Run as long as the costume/cosplay outfit complies with our Employee Code of Conduct.
Will Race winners be announced this year?
No, we will not announce a winner, however, a leaderboard will be available to view for virtual participants.
I signed up for the run but I need to edit my registration, what do I do?
You will be able to modify your registration on the Race Roster participant dashboard using the blue "edit registration" button.
If for some reason you are unable to modify your registration, the Blizzard Events team has the ability to change or update your registration on the back end. Please email us at BlizzardEvents@Blizzard.com so that we have an official record to make the change.
When can I expect my Race swag?
Irvine employees will be able to pick up their race shirts & bibs on campus during race week. Be sure to look out for an email or our #blizzard-fun-run Slack channel for specific days/times.
China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan employees will have their race shirts & bibs shipped directly to their respective office and will be distributed prior to the day of the race (once registered, be sure to look out for an email or Slack message pertaining to your specific office distribution).
If you are participating virtually, be sure to check out all the details on the "Virtual Race Instruction" tab on the left of this page. T-shirts & bandanas will be distributed out after the race upon confirmation of race completion through the app. Downloadable race bib coming soon!
Swag will ONLY be mailed directly to employees if you are assigned as Permanent Work From Home in Workday. If you are assigned to an office, even if running virtually, you must pick up your swag from that office.

Will there be a Health Fair at the Irvine campus as there has been in the past?
No, there will be no health benefits fair this year.
What if it rains?
Irvine only: We will run rain or shine so be prepared to get wet if the weather turns that direction.
All other in-person locations: Please check in with the event organizers listed above for specifics for your region.
I missed the April 28th registration deadline. Can I still participate?
In-person events: Yes, you can still participate and receive a race bib at the event, but you will not be able to receive the t-shirt as they are pre-ordered.
Virtual event: You absolutely can still sign-up and download the RunKeeper app until the end of the run window, finishing your 5k by Sunday, May 11th at 11:59 p.m. PST
