My Story…
Asiginaak is the Ojibwe word for the beautiful red-winged blackbird, a ubiquitous sight here on the shores of Lake Ontario. They are often associated with courage, strength, and the promise of a new beginning. Our team is running together to fundraise for humanitarian relief in Gaza, where people and the local ecology are being ravaged by military warfare and occupation.
Description
I'm participating in Run for Palestine - Toronto to raise funds for an urgent cause close to my heart — the people of Gaza. Last year, together we raised $74,776, and this year, we’re aiming higher with a goal of $80,000. With your help, I know we can get there.
In partnership with Islamic Relief Canada, this year’s campaign supports:
✅ Emergency food and healthcare in Gaza
✅ Sponsorship for orphans in critical need
✅ Essential services like clean water, shelter, and mental health support
Your donation helps trusted local organizations on the ground, including:
📍 Beit Lahia Development Association
📍 Gaza Culture and Development Group
📍 Unlimited Friends Association for Social Development
📍 Bayader for Environment and Development
