My Story…
Since my previous run in September last year:
-tens of thousands more Palestinians have died from direct violence, not counting those lost or perished from indirect sources
-UN warnings of mass starvation due to aid blocking by Israel
-Israel rejected a short-lived ceasefire, and attacked other neighbouring countries too
Repeating from last year, because the need remains the same: I'm doing this run in solidarity with the rest of the activist community across Canada and the rest of the world. It's a minor action and inconvenience in the face of something much bigger. I'd encourage everyone to take 30-60 minutes out of their lives to go for a similar run and use that time and space to give thought to this catastrophe and our personal and global responses to it. Thanks to everyone who contributes with their wallet or actions.
Description
I'm participating in Run for Palestine - Toronto to raise funds for an urgent cause close to my heart — the people of Gaza. Last year, together we raised $74,776, and this year, we’re aiming higher with a goal of $80,000. With your help, I know we can get there.
In partnership with Islamic Relief Canada, this year’s campaign supports:
✅ Emergency food and healthcare in Gaza
✅ Sponsorship for orphans in critical need
✅ Essential services like clean water, shelter, and mental health support
