Whether you want to challenge yourself, or simply head out at a leisurely pace, our event is for you!
Set in the middle of a large sand country farm our x country track isn’t to be underestimated. You’ll head along farm tracks, cross farmland, head up and down rolling sandhills and through pine plantations.
We have many options available, you can choose to walk, run or bike (e-bikes included) our x country loop trails of 5km, 10km and 15km.

Start time is 9am. We will stagger the start by 5 minutes in the order of bikers, runners and walkers to avoid any congestion!
A complementary BBQ will be waiting for you when you finish your event!

RULES
- Participants enter at their own risk.
- DO NOT discard bottles, gel satchels or anything else on the course.
- Shoes must be worn.
- All bikers must wear helmets.
- All bikers, runners and walkers must stick to the course.
- Dogs - No dogs are to be brought onto the property.
- Headphones are permitted but please make sure you can still hear marshals and people around you.
- The course is not suitable for Running buggies for children.
HEALTH & SAFETY
In the interest of providing a safe and enjoyable event experience for all entrants please take into account the following:
- Our event is held on private farmland, Pukemarama, it is a large intensively farmed business operation. There are numerous livestock and wildlife present on farm which include but is not limited to cattle, sheep, horses, ducks, rabbits, hares.
- We are a non-smoking event. There is no smoking allowed anywhere on the Pukemarama property including on the course, at event start/finish, or the parking area.
- No alcohol or drugs allowed.
- When biking a cycling helmet and appropriate safety equipment must be securely worn at all times.
- Participants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult while on the course.
- Children must be supervised within site of an accompanying adult at all times.
- Keep to the left of the course to allow people to pass on the right
- Be courteous to your fellow participants at all times
- Please obey instructions from race officials and volunteers at all times
REFUND POLICY
Entry fees are non-refundable. Please note you do have the option of entry transfer to a friend.
EVENT CANCELLATION
In the unlikely event of cancellation refunds will not be given.
REGISTRATION
Online registration closes Saturday 26th April at 12pm. Registration on the day (Sunday 27th April) opens at 7:30am.
There will be strictly no late entries accepted less than 30 minutes before the event start.
CHECK IN
On the event day you will need to check in and your participant number will be written on a wrist band, you must wear this while at the event. An additional band will also be given to those biking to be put on the front of their bike.
Please arrive at least 45 minutes before your event start to get yourself organised.
The event starts at 9am with a staggered start time between events. There will be a briefing just prior to the beginning of the event.
TRANSFERS
Event refund policy – there will be no cash refunds made, however, if for any reason you are unable to participate in an event then your entry fee is transferable to another participant. Entries are transferable between individuals at a cost via your Race Roster profile. You may transfer between races at anytime through your Race Roster profile.
For health and safety reasons, it is important for us to know the correct identity of every person on the course. Please do not give your race number to someone else without lodging the new details with us.
EVENT ACCESS
The event is held on private farmland. The starting point for the event is accessed along a gravel track at 1597 Tangimoana Road, Tangimoana, 4822.
THE COURSES
All events are loop tracks and thus start and finish at the same point.
Every kilometre is marked.
The courses are made up of but not limited to uneven pastural and coastal terrain, climbing and descending hills, through pine plantations and along gravel tracks. The hazards may include but are not limited to; Livestock, vehicles, spectators, pedestrians, cyclists, slippery surfaces, loose rocks, soft sand, weather conditions, heat exhaustion, hypothermia, actions of spectators, other participants, general public and the event organisers personnel.
DRINK/AID STATIONS
Drink/aid stations will be located approximately 4-5km apart.
Drink stations will provide water in disposable cups. We encourage you to use a reuseable cup or bottle option if possible.
Glen Oroua Friends of the School is a group of parents, former students and locals from our Glen Oroua community that fundraise for a small rural Manawatu school, Glen Oroua Primary.
This year we are raising funds for-
- Classroom reading books that will provide motivating texts at the right levels for our readers.
- New library books.
- Musical instruments, so that each class can have a full set.
- A remodel of the junior playground with the addition of swings.
All funds raised at our event goes directly to the school and its students.
