It’s time for a reunion of all trail runners!

The team from Elite Energy Events and the Wingello RFS are reigniting the trail running world with a return to the stunning Wingello State Forest.

Situated halfway between Sydney and Canberra, just 5 km off the Hume Hwy, this incredible location was once the crown jewel of the trail running calendar with the Southern Highlands Challenge. Now, it’s back with a two-day festival that will unite runners of all abilities.

With distances ranging from 50 km to 6.4 km, these trails are some of the most inviting and exciting in NSW. Many of the longer events will feature unique loops across varying terrain, all returning to race central after each lap. This setup guarantees an electric atmosphere for athletes and spectators alike!

50km Trail Run

  • The 50km loop is made up of 2 laps and will be a challenging 50km made up of fire trail, single track and various vegetation. It will be technical and undulating in parts. Trail running shoes would be recommended for this distance. Finish time cut off is 12pm for the first lap.

25km Trail Run

  • The 25km loop is primarily a continuously undulating technical single trail through various types of vegetation. Trail running shoes would be recommended for this distance.

  • The 15km loop is primarily undulating fire trail with a mix of pine forest and native forest.

  • The 6.4km loop consists mostly of fire trail, and has one pretty good descent and climb not far from the mid point of the race. This loop goes through mostly pine forest.

6.4km Dog Dash Trail Run

  • The 6.4km Dog Dash event will consist of 1 owner and 1 dog to run in the last wave of the 6.4km trail run. The 6.4km loop consists mostly of fire trail, and has one pretty good descent and climb not far from the mid point of the race. This loop goes through mostly pine forest.
