I am walking this 5K because I believe wholeheartedly in this hospital and its mission. This isn’t just an organization I support from the outside, nor is it merely a place of employment; Griffin Hospital is an organization I have personally relied on. When I was diagnosed, I chose to receive my treatment here, and I will always be grateful for the compassionate care, expert guidance, and hope I found within these walls.

My connection to this cause runs even deeper. Cancer has left a lasting mark on my life. I lost my mom to cancer, and that loss shaped so much of who I am today. 

Over the years, I’ve also watched multiple family members receive the devastating news of a cancer diagnosis. Each experience reminds me just how critical it is to have a place of healing, support, and hope for patients and their loved ones.

This year, I am walking in honor of James Laden, Chloe Longe, Edmund Bryce, and Brenda Bryce, and in memory of all the loved ones we carry with us. Their stories, and their strength inspire me to keep moving forward, not only for them, but for every family that has faced the unthinkable.
