The RUN Varsity Summer Run Series is a way for middle and high-school-aged athletes to stay motivated, meet new people, and train in new ways this summer. This series consists of a combination of free and paid events that range from group runs, educational talks, meet and greets, a timed race and a multi-day running clinic.

UPMC Running Clinic "Empowering the Teenage Runner" | P3R Track & Field Complex at the RMU Island Sports Center | July 24 and 25 from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- This two-day run clinic is perfect for the athlete looking to take their running to the next level or someone just starting their fitness journey. This year's sessions will be led by top coaches and special guest professional runners. You'll learn breathing exercises, optimal running form, cross-training techniques, injury prevention drills, race tactics, and even try some excellent running workouts.

Fuel Up - Nutrition and Hydration for Athletes | White Oak Park - Magnolia Pavilion | June 11 from 6:00 - 7:30 PM
- This session will cover the fundamentals of sports nutrition, including pre- and post-run meals, hydration strategies, and recovery foods. Join us to learn how smart nutrition can help you train harder, recover faster, and perform your best! Led by UPMC Sports Nutritionist Mike Dibiasi.
Unlock Your Full Potential with Yoga | Schoolhouse Yoga - North Hills | June 26 from 6:30 - 7:30 pm
- This specialized event is designed for middle and high school runners to enhance flexibility, strength, and mental focus through guided yoga sessions. Led by experienced instructors, this workshop will teach athletes how to incorporate yoga into their training routines to improve performance and prevent injuries. Join us for an engaging session that will help you run stronger, recover faster, and reach your peak potential!
Weight Lifting for Runners | D1 Training - Pittsburgh West | July 19 from Noon - 1:30 PM
- Strength training is a game-changer for runners! This is a beginner-friendly workshop designed to help middle and high school runners build strength, enhance endurance, and reduce injury risk. Guided by knowledgeable coaches, this session will introduce key weightlifting exercises that complement a runner’s training. Learn how proper strength training can make you faster, stronger, and more resilient!
