The Aboriginal Procurement Policy in NSW is designed to leverage Aboriginal business to drive economic self-determination and change through employment and business opportunities. Transport for NSW are committed to playing their role in building a First Nations economy through greater participation and accessibility of Aboriginal businesses to access procurement opportunities and supply chains.

To support this, Transport for NSW will facilitate eight (8) free of charge workshops for Aboriginal businesses to increase capacity in tender writing and business acumen across central Sydney and regional locations. The workshops will work through several activities to build tender writing skill and capability including:

• ‘Positioning for success’: building customers’ confidence in their businesses, finding their business’ unique value proposition and developing capabilities to meet Transports’ needs.
• ‘Planning for success’: setting up process and teams to develop the proposal.
• ‘Persuading for success’: drafting different sections of the proposal, using persuasive techniques to impress Transport.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with key representatives from Transport for NSW and delivery partners, providing an opportunity to build greater relational connections and an understanding of any immediate challenges to supplying or procuring work.
