Please be advised that the TTC does not open until 8:00am on Sundays. Meaning you should make arrangements to be dropped off as all shifts on event day, Sunday, September 29 start at 6am.
Uniforms
Volunteers will be provided with a t-shirt on Sunday, September 29th after checking in at the Volunteer Tent
Please wear:
- Comfortable shoes
- Long Sleeve if Needed (preferably black - to be worn under your volunteer shirt)
- No logos
- Black Pants
Safety
The Bimbo Global Race By Dempster's is an outdoor event. As such, it is important that everyone practices sun safety.
- Wear a hat, sunscreen, and drink lots of water!
- Seek shade if possible!
- If you are serving food, gloves will be provided.
- Hand washing stations are located near the washrooms and hand sanitizer will be found throughout the site.

The Bimbo Global Race by Dempster’s is an event that celebrates Canadians getting active together and giving back to our community. This is part of a unique global event that brings together more than 120,000 runners in 22 countries and 36 cities, taking place on the same day worldwide!

Team Descriptions
Advance Teams
Route Notification – This team will patrol the area around Ashbridge’s Bay park and deliver flyers to local businesses and residents, letting them know the event is taking place. This team will deliver the flyers in advance of the event on Saturday, September 14th.
Packet Pick Up – This team will hand out runner packets before the event at Running Room Beaches (1977 Queen St E, Toronto, ON M4L 1J1) & Running Room TD Centre (66 Wellington St W Unit 5, Toronto, ON M5K 1A0) from Thursday, September 26 to Saturday September 28, 2024
Event Day Teams
Bag Check Team – This team performs bag check and helps runners put away their belongings in a designated safe space on Event Day, Sunday, September 29, 2024
Event Set-Up Team - This team assists with setting up the Opening Ceremony site on Saturday, September 28, 2024, one day before the event
Medals & Swag Team – This team is situated at the Closing Line and distributes medals and swag bags to runners on Event Day, Sunday, September 29, 2024.
Registration Team – This team assists runners with finding their registration kits at Kit Pick-up and directs them forward on Event Day, Sunday, September 29, 2024.
Route Signage – This team helps place signage along the routes to help ensure the participants know which direction to walk/run and also indicate the distance they have travelled on Event Day, Sunday, September 29, 2024.
Snack and Water Stations – Overseeing the set up and distribution of water and snacks. Ensuring the tables are stacked neatly with supplies distributed in a friendly and orderly way on Event Day, Sunday, September 29, 2024.
Welcome Team – This team is set up at various “busy” locations at the Opening Ceremonies, welcoming runners, helping answer questions and directing participants to their next station in order to keep people moving and avoid crowding on Event Day, Sunday, September 29, 2024.
Course Wayfinding Help - The members of this team will be stationed at key spots along the course, holding signs to help guide participants. Whether showing them which lap they're on or pointing them in the right direction, you'll play a role in keeping everyone on track on Event Day, Sunday, September 29, 2024!

How long are shifts?
Shift lengths can vary in length depending on the role you have selected, however most shifts range from 5-8 hours.
I'd like to volunteer with my friends, can we be scheduled together?
Of course! We can place you together the day of the event.
Is there a minimum age to volunteer?
Yes, volunteers must be at least 14 years of age to volunteer. A parent/guardian must complete the volunteer waiver for anyone under the age of 18.

Is there parking available?
Paid parking is available at 20 Ashbridges Bay Park Rd, Toronto, ON M4L 3W6 Green P lot, however availability will be extremely limited.
