We invite you to join the Wainwright Runners, Saturday morning, Sept 20/2025 at 10:00am for the annual Bison Dash through the heart of the town of Wainwright. The 5K route will remain as the new format implemented in 2024. We will be starting in the green space by No Frills parking lot (see the map below). The 5K loop route will take you through the walking trails of Wainwright, into Bevan's green area and up on the berm trail along highway 41 before you head back to finish line. This is a perfect route for your 5K personal best.

The 5K route has also been changed up this yr. We will be starting in the green space by No Frills parking lot (see the map below). Parking is available in the North east corner of No Frills Parking lot (Directions to No Frills HERE ). Red Diamond on the map is starting line.
For the 5K Run we have 8 categories
- Junior 17yrs and under (Male and Female)
- Open 18yrs - 34yrs (Male and Female)
- Masters 35yr - 49yrs (Male and Female)
- Seniors 50+yrs (Male and Female)
For the 5K Walk we have 2 category (Male and Female)
For the 2K kids Run we will have 2 categories (Male and Female)
Package pick up will be at MOONLIGHT BAY 2501 14 Ave, Wainwright, AB from 3:30-6:30pm on Friday Sept 19th. Directions HERE
For those travelling you can pickup your package the morning of the event on site from 09:00 am-10:15 am.
NOTE: An Adult must accompany kids 12 and under to the race site and must remain on site during the race. Thank You!
Awards, hand made medallions, will be presented to the top 3 runners in each category. They will be presented after all participants have crossed the finish line.
Manual timing will be done by Ellis Timing. All participants will receive a time. Results will be printed on-site.

Run cancellation: Wainwright Runners reserves the right to cancel the run based on: (1) Extreme weather during the event. (2) Unforeseen circumstances that make directing the race impossible. In the case of cancellation, race entries will not be refunded.
