The 2025 Riverview Park and Zoo Fun Run will support an exciting new project to increase the accessibility of our playground area. We boast the largest playground in the City of Peterborough and are very proud to have had lots of community support over the years to build this great community space. We are now looking forward, and are making improvements with accessibility in mind:

For generations, Riverview Park & Zoo has been a place of wonder, discovery, and family memories. As Canada’s only free CAZA-accredited zoo, it’s more than an attraction—it’s a treasured community space where families learn, play, and connect with nature.

Now, we’re taking the next step in our journey: building and improving on one of the region’s largest accessible playgrounds, ensuring that every child—regardless of ability—can experience the fun of play. And because inclusion extends beyond the playground, we’re also ensuring that parents and grandparents with disabilities have accessible paths and seating to watch and be part of the joy, as well.

• A Playground Without Limits – This new space will be designed for inclusivity, adventure, and connection, where every family member, regardless of ability, can view, climb, swing, and explore—together.
