Second-Stage Housing is essential—women and families accepted into second-stage housing have increased security concerns due to intimate partner violence, preventing them from accessing regular housing. Complexity of intimate partner violence and increased risk to survivors has been an ongoing trend, and the absence of affordable housing is major barrier to moving forward safely (ACWS Data Release, 2023). Survivors with long-term, affordable housing and support are far more likely to achieve safety, independence, and break the cycle of abuse. The Night Light Walk highlights this critical need, raising both funds and awareness. Every dollar raised ensures no survivor is left without a safe place to rebuild their life.
