Be part of Fit For Care – Maggie’s Run, a timed race inspired by the life and legacy of Maggie Hanham, who lived with dementia and received compassionate care at McCormick Home. Created in her honor, this event reflects Maggie’s unwavering strength and dedication—and carries her legacy forward in support of others walking a similar journey.

This meaningful run raises vital funds for dementia care services at McCormick Care Group, ensuring that individuals and families continue to receive the high-quality care, support, and compassion they deserve.

Whether you’re running in memory of a loved one, in support of a caregiver, or simply to make a difference, every step you take matters.

All participants will receive a race t-shirt, finisher’s medal, and swag bag, and are invited to enjoy a post-race BBQ. After the run, stick around for family-friendly activities, a wellness fair, and a celebration and award ceremony honoring top finishers and dedicated community members.

This run holds a special place in our hearts as we honour Maggie, an exceptional perinatal nurse known for her unwavering dedication to her patients. Maggie's selflessness extended beyond her professional life, as she became a devoted caregiver to her husband following his Alzheimer's diagnosis. Later, when Maggie herself received an Alzheimer's diagnosis, she became a cherished resident of McCormick Home.

Maggie's Run is a testament to her resilience, the impact she has had on countless lives, and the compassionate care she received at McCormick Home.

This goal goes beyond provincial government funding, making your donation crucial in advancing excellence in dementia care and senior care at McCormick Home, McCormick Dementia Services, and in our community.

ALL proceeds from Fit for Care and Maggie’s Run support McCormick Home. ALL participants fundraised dollars directly support residents at McCormick Home, helping advance excellence in dementia care for our community.

*While supplies last. Every run participant receives a shirt (we order the number of shirts per spot in the races); however, some sizes may run out. You are welcome to exchange your shirt size on race day, sizes may be limited.

Event Cancellation

In the event that the in-person races should be held in an adapted or alternative way, including a virtual race for reasons beyond the control of the organizing committee, such as the weather or a pandemic situation including COVID-19 and/or other variants, no refund will be possible.

You will still receive your event kit.
We will do everything we can to have safety measures in place for an in-person event, however, we do not have control if gathering restrictions are put in place by our Middlesex-London Health Unit or the Government of Ontario. We rely on the decisions made by the provincial and/or municipal levels of Government in terms of canceling the event due to weather, gathering restrictions, or unforeseen circumstances.
