Race Route
5KM AND 10KM ROUTE:
Race Route Details
The race route is a 5KM looped course. Participants in the 5KM event will complete one full loop of the course, while 10KM runners will tackle the course twice to complete their distance. The course will be clearly marked with flagging tape and KM markers. Click here for an interactive map. Please note, this is a trail race so distance markers are approximate.
Terrain and conditions: This course features rugged, narrow single-track trails that wind through dense forest, with frequent elevation changes, steep climbs, and technical terrain. Expect loose rocks, roots, and uneven footing throughout. For your safety and performance, proper trail running footwear is highly recommended.
Water Stations: There will be one water station located at the 2.5KM mark on the course. All runners will pass this station once per loop — 5KM runners at the halfway point, and 10KM runners at both 2.5KM and 7.5KM. In addition, 10KM runners will have access to a second water station at the 5KM mark, just before they begin their second loop. Water stations will be serving Saltwater Co. water for optimal hydration.
SMALL STEPS 1KM RUN/WALK
The 1KM route will be an out-and-back style course on paved paths. Parents are encouraged to run with their children and do not need to register in order to accompany them.
Frequently Asked Questions?
1. Do I have to run to participate in the event?
No! Both runners and walkers alike are welcome to participate in the event. If you plan on walking for the entire duration of the race, it is recommended that you do the 5KM option.
2. Are strollers and dogs allowed?
Due to the nature of the trails, strollers and dogs are not permitted in the 5KM or 10KM events, but they are welcome to spectate! Dogs and Stollers will be permitted to take part in the Small Steps 1KM event.

A trail race takes place on unpaved hiking trails through the woods that involve hills, roots and some rocks. The terrain tends to be uneven and can be narrow at times. Proper trail footwear is recommended.
4. Is the race timed?
Yes, the race will be chipped timed. Your time will be recorded by a chip located on your race bib. This means that your time will start when you cross the start line and will stop when you cross the finish line. If you are competing for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place overall your standings will be based on gun time, not chipped time. All other results will be based on chip time. Your race bib must be pinned to the front of your shirt and visible at all times.
5. Can I run with headphones?
It is recommended that you do not run with headphones so that you can be aware of your surroundings at all times. If you do run with headphones, please make sure you keep one out at all times.

Yes, we will have water stations available along the route every 3-5KM.

8. Will the race happen if it rains?
Yes, the race will happen rain or shine, we will only cancel in the case of extreme weather, such as thunderstorms.
9. What is trail etiquette?
- Stick to the right hand side at all times so other runners can pass you. There may also be a few sections where runner traffic is flowing in both directions.
- Do not litter on the trails! Please do your part to help keep our trails clean.
- Encourage others and have fun!
10. Is the 1KM event for kids only? Can I accompany my child?
