Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Horseshoe Valley Hustle 5K/10K! Our event would not be possible without the amazing support of dedicated volunteers like you. Whether you are handing out water, guiding runners, or helping with setup, every role plays a crucial part in making this race a success.
By volunteering, you will be part of an incredible community, meet new people, and contribute to a fun and rewarding event. No experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to help!
There are volunteer positions for everyone!
Water Stations - 8:30AM - 12:00PM
- Arrange cups of water for easy access, ensuring the table remains stocked and organized.
- Hand out drinks efficiently, cheer on participants and provide support as needed.
- Pick up discarded cups and maintain a safe, clutter-free hydration zone.
- Work as a team to keep morale high and ensure runners have a positive experience.
Course Marshall - 8:30AM - 12:00PM
- Direct runners along the correct route and monitor for any hazards or concerns.
- Use hand signals, signs, and verbal cues to guide runners at turns and intersections.
- Cheer on runners to keep them energized and engaged throughout the race.
- Report any issues, injuries, or rule violations to event staff as needed.
Finish Line Volunteers - 8:30AM - 12:00PM **Will be assigned to one of the following positions
Finish Line Marshal
Congratulate athletes as they cross the finish line.
Ensure the finish corral is clear of any athletes standing at the finish line.
Finish Line Water Team
Distribute water to athletes after the race.
Waste Management
Help ensure waste/garbage's are not overflowing.
Additional Information
- Check-In Details: Volunteers are expected to arrive on time for their check in-time. When you arrive on site you will check in with the volunteer captain at the start/finish line.
- What to Bring: Wear weather-appropriate clothing and close-toed shoes. Water, sunscreen, and bug spray are strongly recommended.
- Location & Parking: Free parking is available in the main lot.
- Breakfast: As a thank you for volunteering for the event, volunteers will receive breakfast. A breakfast ticket will be given to you on race day to redeem following the event.
Plus, for those seeking community involvement hours to put toward high school graduation, every hour you volunteer, we will give you 1.5 hours toward your total service.
