Q: Who can participate in Detroit Classic?
A: Anyone! The meet is open to runners of all paces, backgrounds, and experience levels. Whether it’s your first race or your 50th, you’re welcome here.
Q: What events are being offered?
A: You can register for the 800m, 5000m, or both. Each event will be run in timed heats based on predicted pace.
Q: How are heats organized?
A: Heats are seeded by estimated finish time, so you'll be racing with others at a similar pace. You’ll provide your estimated time during registration.
Q: What are Crew Games?
A: The Crew Games is our team competition! Register under your run club or squad name and compete across 3 categories:
🔥 Heat Check (time performance within your heat)
🔧 Full Squad Pull-Up (how many runners your crew brings)
🎤 Top Crew (overall team energy & presence—judged by our team)
Q: Can I sign up as part of a team later?
A: Yes! If you forget to add your team name during registration, you can go back and update it before race day.
Q: Will there be awards or prizes?
A: All participants receive a custom Detroit Classic medal. We’ll also recognize top individuals and teams across events and Crew Games categories.
Q: What’s the vibe like?
A: Think under-the-lights racing meets block party energy: DJ on deck, good people everywhere, and Detroit spirit all over the track.
Q: Will there be photos from the event?
A: Yes! We’ll have a professional photographer capturing the action. Post-event photo galleries will be shared.
