Runners and Walkers will participate in the 5K starting at 9 AM. This race will be held rain or shine. There is a $30 registration fee for both runners and walkers. Race Day registration is $35.
Sponsorship packages are available for corporations, large groups or individuals. Donors are also encouraged to underwrite the attendance of those in need.
NAMI Rockland is an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, one of the largest, grassroots mental health, self-help and advocacy organizations in the country. We work to educate, support, advocate, listen and lead to improve the lives of people with mental illness and their loved ones.
NAMI members and volunteers consist of individuals with a lived experience of mental illness, relatives, friends and advocates working together to improve the lives of people affected by mental illness.
Our support groups, HelpLine and educational workshops are a valuable and FREE resource for the community. Through a combined effort, our team works with schools, churches and synagogues, civic organizations and other non profits to raise awareness.
We do this through presentations such as In Our Own Voice and Ending the Silence:
- In Our Own Voice presentations change attitudes, assumptions and ideas about people with mental health conditions. These free, 40-, 60- or 90-minute presentations provide a personal perspective of mental health conditions, as leaders with lived experience talk openly about what it’s like to have a mental health condition.
- Ending the Silence is an engaging presentation that helps middle and high school aged youth learn about the warning signs of mental health conditions and what steps to take if you or a loved one are showing symptoms of a mental health condition.
Both programs are offered in-person and virtually. For more information call (845) 359-8785.
