RUNGANDA 2025
When: Saturday, November 8, 2025 – 9:00 AM
Where: Creve Coeur Lake Park, Saint Louis, MO. Tremayne Shelter.
Join us for the 8th Annual Runganda – a community fun run and charity race that brings St. Louis together to support Kawete, Uganda. Inspired by students at Christ Community Lutheran School in Kawete (where some children walk up to 4 miles to school each day), Runganda raises funds and awareness for this vibrant village.
Event Highlights
5K Run/Walk – A scenic, flat course around Creve Coeur Lake. Perfect for personal records, casual jogs, and families pushing strollers.
1-Mile Fun Run/Walk – A shorter, family-friendly route for runners, walkers, and kids of all ages. Grab a friend and enjoy a brisk mile in the park.
Jerry Can Relay (Teams of 4) – A unique Ugandan challenge brought stateside! Each 4-person team carries a water-filled jerry can in relay legs. Choose Full Jerry (5 gallons, ~44 lbs) or Half Jerry (2.5 gallons, ~22 lbs). Each member carries the can ¼ mile (four legs = 1 mile total). Test your strength and teamwork by simulating a day in the life of a Kawete villager. No straps or wheels allowed – just you, your teammates, and the heavy can. Time stops when the final team member finishes!
Support a Great Cause
100% of race proceeds support Kawete High School in Uganda through Christ Community International (CCI). Since 2013, CCI has empowered Kawete with education, healthcare, and community development. Our latest project is building a new high school for local students. By running or walking at Runganda, you are “expressing God’s love through service” and helping build a brighter future for Kawete’s children.
Who Can Run?
Everyone! Runners, walkers, families, church and school groups – all ages and abilities are welcome. Form a 4-person team of friends, family, or coworkers to tackle the Jerry Can Relay, or join solo in the 5K or 1-mile races. It’s a fun, family-friendly event with something for everyone.
Don’t miss out on the fun and inspiration – register now and make a difference with every step!

Decide before signing up, or simply list all teammate names as your “team name.” Each teammate can register separately, but you must have 4 people to complete a team.
