Celebrating 9 Years of Strength and Support for Our Purple Community!
Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario (ESWO) invites you to join us on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, for the 9th Anniversary of our Annual Seize the Day Fundraiser at Vollmer Recreation Park.
All funds raised will directly support vital programs and services for individuals living with epilepsy, their families, and communities across Southwestern Ontario.
This family-friendly event kicks off at 10:00 AM with a spirited run or an uplifting walk followed by a BBQ celebration.
Whether you’re running or walking to honor a loved one, to stand with those affected by epilepsy, or to raise awareness, we invite you to be part of this inspiring day. Together, let’s build on last year’s success and celebrate the resilience of our purple community!

Vollmer Culture & Recreation Complex, 2121 Laurier Pkwy, Windsor, ON N9J 0B4
A beautiful park that offers a pavilion and trail for the walk and run. There will be access to a splash pad (weather permitting due to time of season) and accessibility playground.
Note: Some of the trails are gravel and not paved – However it is flat and accessible.

What is a Virtual Run/Walk?
A virtual run or walk allows you to participate in the event from any location you choose. Whether you walk, run, or use a wheelchair/stroller, you can create your own route and go at your own pace, timing yourself if desired. You have till September 20th to complete your run or walk.
Be sure to:
1. Download your “I’m Walking For” sign.
2. Complete your 2K Walk/6K Run and Bike Ride and share your photos with us by tagging @epilepsyswo on social media.
3. Download a participant certificate or print your own personalized certificate once you submit your results on Race Roster.
4. Seize the Day t-shirts are coming soon to our Purple Store! Stay tuned for more details
Registration and Fees
- Your online registration through Race Roster will include all fees associated with the event.
- Register in advance for $30 or at the event for $40.
- Virtual participation is FREE.
- Individuals that raise $150 will get a free t-shirt. Teams that raise $1,500 will all receive free t-shirts.
- If an individual in a team raises $150, but the team does not meet the Team fundraising goal, the individual will still receive their shirt.
- Registration fees apply to each individual member of the team.
- In-person participation is free for those under 12 years of age.
- Offline pledge forms available. Please ensure all cheques are made payable to Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario.
If you receive offline funds (cash/cheques), these can be brought to the Seize the Day event, sent to our mailing address or by e-transfer (Please contact us regarding an e-transfer: madison@epilepsyswo.ca)
Please note that all cheques need to be made payable to Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario. If tax receipts are required for donations, please fill out the pledge form with a legible mailing address and full name.
