Our story…

Hi, I’m Ashley! This is year three of leading team Mindful Migraine, a team that reminds you that even when your head is full of migraine, you can still stay mindful. Even when life feels dark or heavy, there are still moments of light, joy, and gratitude to hold onto.

This year marks 10 years since I was diagnosed with chronic migraine, a decade of learning, adapting, and finding strength. What started as occasional discomfort at 17 slowly became years of on and off hospital stays, medication trials, and days spent in dark quiet rooms just trying to make it through. The physical pain can be unbearable, and the mental side with the isolation, anxiety, and exhaustion can feel just as heavy. Migraine changes everything: how you move, connect, and show up in the world. It’s an invisible illness that can make you feel invisible, too.

This year feels especially personal. I’m still in the middle of an intense migraine episode and recently came out of another hospitalization with the UHealth Neurology and Headache Team. It’s been a tough season, but also a reminder of how much love, care, and community surround me. I’m endlessly grateful for my family, friends, care team, and the Miles for Migraine community who continue to show up and remind me that I’m never alone in this.

This year, I walk with gratitude for healing, for community, and for every step forward little by little.

💜 Join my team. Let’s raise awareness and end the stigma around headache disorders. Help me teach others it’s more than just a headache.
